Susanna Cuevas Manrubia winner of XVIII Premi Europeu de Divulgació Científica Estudi General

During the presentation of the Ciutat d'Alzira awards that took place last Friday, November 9, Sussana Cuevas Manrubia, researcher at the Center for Astrobiology (CSIC-INTA), was awarded the XVIII Premi Europeu of Scientific Dissemination Estudi General for the essay "Genes and genealogies".
The literary prizes in the Catalan language Ciutat d'Alzira are organized by the City Council of Alzira (Valencia), the University of Valencia, the Mancomunidad de la Ribera Alta, Bancaja, the Alzira-Valencia Center of the UNED and the Bromera publishing house. Each organizer endows one of the existing categories. They were organized for the first time in 1989 with a single category, the novel, adding the one of scientific disclosure in 1995, juvenile and child narrative in 1996, essay in 1999, poetry and theater in 2006. The Ciutat d'Alzira Awards are considered as one of the most complete and important of the Valencian literary scene, with an important economic endowment but variable according to the edition and category. In addition to the prize money, the winners receive a sculpture alluding to reading, the work of the Valencian sculptor Manolo Boix. The currently existing categories are:

     Mancomunidad de la Ribera Alta Prize for rehearsal
     Bancaja Award for Youth Narrative
     Vicent Silvestre Award for Children's Narrative
     Ibn Jafadja Prize for poetry
     Ciutat d'Alzira Award Palanca i Roca theater
