Jesús Martínez Frías elected President of the International Association of Geoethics

The International Association of Geoethics (IAGETH) was founded in August 2012 in Brisbane (Australia) in the framework of the 34th International Geological Congress.
Currently, the IAGETH is related to more than a dozen geo-scientific societies and institutions and has representation in 27 countries through experts covering different topics in a multidisciplinary manner (geological risks and catastrophes, geo-education, natural resources, environment, climate, etc.).
Jesús Martínez Frías is a PhD in Geological Sciences, a scientific researcher at the CSIC at the Center for Astrobiology (CSIC-INTA) and a professor of planetary geochemistry at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He currently directs the Department of Planetology and Habitability of the Center for Astrobiology (CSIC-INTA) and is responsible for the Commission of Education in Geosciences of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS-COGE).
Among the next activities of the IAGETH They highlight their participation in the International Stratigraphy Congress (Lisbon), in the Meeting of the European Union of Geosciences (Vienna) and in the International Geoethics Conference in Pribram (Czech Republic).
